Christmas Party

2008 - An early Christmas party was held by HISA and sponsored and supported by radio wave and coca - cola. The party took place at the Community Office in Kilimandjaro Informal Settlement. The following community preschools also attended Villa Colourful, Madume Kindergarten, Oprah Kin Kindergarten from Okahandja Park , Kilimanajro and Babylon informal settlements. The children and to the delight of the little ones Father Christmas came to Okahandja park and distributed the Christmas presents.

Graduation Ceremony

GRADUENDS !!! HISAs yearly graduation for Play group children promoted to grade one in 2008 and Bridging school children promoted to main stream schools, was held on the 29th of November. Parents, well wishers and community members thronged the ceremony.... The Okahandja park community is grateful to HISA for both the playgroup and Bridging school projects which empower children and giving them a head start through teaching and feeding OVCs. The community was entertained with songs and dance from the Playgroup and the bridging school.

Outing for the Playgroup

The main method of teaching in this ECD program is the learning through play method. This method gives the OVC an opportunity to learn something and at the same time to have fun!. The outing will give the Okahandja Park,Killimanjalo and babylon children to be exposed to some of the things that they have been learning such as traffic lights, swimming pools.

Funday for Playgroup

A playgroup funday will be held on the 23rd of November 2008. The following activities took place: Sports such football,netball, Dancing,Singing , drama.

Community Funday

A community funday was held on the 9th December of 2008 . HISA-Namibia took this opportunity to educate the community about Health and Nutrition.

Play Group Teacher Training - Graduation ceremony “HISA – Pinocchio Partnership”

10 women running community based kindergartens in Okahandja Park, Kilimandjaro Okuruyangava received training in Early Childhood Education and cRae. The training was part of the HISA – Pinocchio e partnership May 2007 – November 2007. Caregiver capacity through training Pre school teachers. A colourful graduation ceremony for the pre-school graduates was held on the 6th of December 2007. Graduating teachers from the pre-schools who and their families, HISA staff, Pinnochio Trainer, Katutura Project Ms Jutta Rohwer and Ministry of Gender and Childwelfare officials graced the occasion. It was a worthwhile ceremony the graduates portrayed some of the skills they gained from the workshop via songs, poems, art and dance.

Fun day at Kilimandjaro

HISA-Namibia held a fun day at Kilimandjaro on the 15th of December 2007. Honourable Counsellor E Hendjala attended the fun day and Commented HISA-SA's work and urged community leaders, members to meet HISA-SA halfway as the programs and activities run by HISA-SA benefits the OVC in their community. He welcomed the idea of erecting a community centre in Kilimandjaro.
